Hi! I have been away from the blog for a long while and it feels so good to be back! I have been away for a couple reasons. This term my classes were INTENSE and I had very little free time..but the term is coming to an end (1 more final!) so I can finally get back over here and get some posts going!
I also wasn’t quite feeling 100% about my posts and the format. Honestly, I am still working out the kinks but I think I am going in the right direction now. From here on out my posts will be mostly short and sweet and will cover a ton of different stuff! Recipes, yoga, mediation, chakras, travel and life! Today I want to share one of my favorite daily mantras that I like to repeat at the end of my morning yoga practice.
Simple but powerful. (Can you tell I am missing the oh so greenness of my Minnesota home??) I most often repeat this while I am lying in fetal pose after my sweet savasana (corpse pose) with my free hand on the earth in front of my belly. From here I can tap into the vibrations of the earth, giving my words a physical quality. I repeat it 3-6 times, using a full inhale and exhale each time to really focus on the mantra. You could also come up into your easy pose and repeat the mantra there before sealing in your practice or mediation with a “namaste” or OM (or however you usually do it, do your thang ;))
Of course you do not need a yoga or meditation practice to use this mantra. You can say it in the shower, or on your morning walk or while your making coffee! It is great to have a physical connection to the earth (sitting in under a big beautiful tree would be ideal) but if you’re not in a place where that is possible place your hands or feet on any ground you have and say it anyways!
I like to come back to this during the day too if I am feeling rushed or stressed or a little down. Adding some deep slow belly breaths usually gets me back into the present and out of my head (where I tend to get stuck…a lot:))
